Exciting news — our Get Into Retail programme with TK Maxx and Homesense is back! This 4-week opportunity is for NEET young people aged 16–30 looking to gain hands-on experience in retail in the following locations:

Cwmbran

Swansea
This programme will combine instore work experience and face-to-face employability skills training with The Prince’s Trust.

Get Into Retail with Tk Maxx
• Taster Day: Friday 20th 2025
• Location: Cardiff (location will be confirmed with young people on sign-up)
Please note that the taster day is a selection day, we therefore advise that young people must be work ready and have a positive attitude.
Programme Details: Monday 23rd June – Friday 18th July 2025
• Programme Schedule: Monday – Friday, 9.30am – 4pm
• Programme Length: 4-weeks
• No. of Placements on the Programme: min 2 per store
• Week 1: In-store induction, face to face training, time with their designated Buddy, Retail basics
• Week 2: Employability skills, time with their Buddy, work experience
• Week 3: Connecting with customers, customer service in action, work experience
• Week 4: Time with their Buddy to reach final sign-off, final celebration and next steps
• There will be x1 employability day weekly in a Cardiff Store.
Misc Details
• Person Spec: Candidates must have an interest in working in the Retail sector and working with customers. Candidates must also be willing to work on their feet for long periods of time. No previous experience necessary.
• Documentation/ID: On programme completion, candidates will need to have ID / right to work documents e.g. Passport, Driving Licence, Birth Certificate to start employment.
• Travel costs are reimbursed and lunch budget of £3 per day on prepaid lunch card.
• Criminal Convictions: All convictions will be considered on a case-by-case basis.
